The interior of a conveyor system is generally inaccessible and, in spite of pitched chains, different areas cannot be reached for manual cleaning. Therefore, many companies use special CIP equipment for their conveyors. This offers the advantage over manual chain cleaning that all of the internal area can be accessed. Even areas difficult to reach between crossbeams can be dealt with if the equipment is correctly installed.
Cleaning and disinfecting is usually carried out in a once through system. Therefore dosing is done in proportion to the flow using dosing pumps from the ProMinent Beta, Gamma or Sigma product ranges. To check and record the disinfecting process, measuring equipment can also be installed.
Disinfecting with Chlorine Dioxide
Chlorine dioxide is, without doubt , one of the optimum solutions for this application. Chlorine dioxide is usually already contained in the conveyor lubricating solution or the fresh water and can therefore be used for disinfecting conveyor systems without danger of possible interactions. Furthermore chlorine dioxide, because of its special properties, has the ability to continually break down biofilm.
If a ProMinent BelloZon® Chlorine Dioxide-plant is already available in another location, our concept can be used for the central production and subsequent distribution of chlorine dioxide as well. However, should this require connection piping of excessive length, the best solution is a stand-alone version in the filling area. In this case, the equipment should be in a stainless steel housing. |
