Modern swimming pools must fulfil high safety requirements and comply with strict legal regulations. The indoor swimming pool in Bütschwil achieves this with a new solution for water disinfection: the CHLORINSITU®-V electrolysis system.
Safe water disinfection with modern electrolysis
Modern swimming pools must fulfil high safety requirements and comply with strict legal regulations. The Bütschwil indoor pool achieves this with a new solution for water disinfection: the CHLORINSITU®-V electrolysis system generates the required chlorine gas directly on site from common salt - replacing the previous, acid-based technology, which no longer met the requirements of the Biocides Ordinance. This is the first time a system of this type has been successfully installed in Switzerland.
From old stock to future solution
As part of the refurbishment of the Bütschwil indoor swimming pool, the existing disinfection system was to be replaced. The previous, acid-based technology no longer met the requirements of the Biocide Ordinance and was technically outdated. The aim was to implement a modern, legally compliant and reliable disinfection solution that could be reliably integrated into the existing technology despite the limited space available and would also support future expansions.

Efficient disinfection in a confined space
ProMinent converted the previous disinfection system to a CHLORINSITU®-V electrolysis system. This produces high-purity chlorine gas directly from common salt using a vacuum process. In addition, the entire measuring and control technology was modernised. The metering pumps for pH correction and the safe storage of the media used in a double-walled, earthquake-proof storage tank were also modernised.
Despite the cramped conditions in the technical room, the new system was optimally integrated - supported by the close cooperation with the electrolysis experts from the ProMinent Group.
