Reverse Osmosis Systems
Remove over 99 % of all salts
Reverse osmosis is the reverse of the natural process of osmosis. It is used to desalinate aqueous solutions. Nowadays we use high-performance diaphragms to produce an almost totally salt-free solution.
The advantages are obvious.
The systems are easy to operate and safe thanks to a modern microprocessor controller with integrated conductivity measurement. The operating status is clearly displayed. Offering a pure water output of up to 90 % and the removal of more than 99 % of dissolved ions, the system is exceptionally efficient. Energy consumption is low because ProMinent uses low-energy reverse osmosis diaphragms and recovers energy from the concentrate flow during seawater desalination. A built-in cleaning concept ensures that the diaphragms last for a long time. The construction of the systems on a stainless steel frame is well thought-out and user-friendly. The investment costs are low because small high-pressure pumps can be used.
Where is reverse osmosis used?
ProMinent reverse osmosis systems are typically found in the chemical industry, pharmaceutical industry, food and beverage industry, metal processing, electroplating, the treatment of boiler feed water in power plants and the generation of potable water from brackish water or sea water. There are three basic types of raw water that require desalination, each with a different salinity: potable water, brackish water and seawater.
Leave it to our experienced engineers
ProMinent engineers are experts with years of experience in the handling and analysis of raw water. They will evaluate the raw water analysis and identify a suitable reverse osmosis system for you. So that the customer can source everything from one source, they also work out the best pre- and post-treatment technology. In fact, complete reverse osmosis systems integrated in standard transport containers are one of our specialities.
Explanation of abbreviations: TW: potable water, BW: brackish water, SW: seawater. All you need to do is select your required performance level – then you can sit back and rely on the excellent service of our ProMinent specialists.
One more thing: ProMinent has extensive experience in the construction of other special systems, such as two-stage systems for higher permeate quality requirements. Please contact us for more details.
