Heidelberg, February 2024 – Newly crowned innovation champion: ProMinent GmbH from Heidelberg has once again been awarded the TOP 100 seal. Only particularly innovative medium-sized companies are honoured with this award. Science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar will personally congratulate ProMinent on this success at the award ceremony on 28 June in Weimar.
The ProMinent Group is a manufacturer of water treatment systems and market leader in metering technology. Pioneering spirit and enthusiasm for technology are the driving force behind the family-owned company, which became famous in 1968 for developing the world's first electronic solenoid metering pump. "It is part of our DNA to develop innovative solutions with a great deal of perseverance and make them ready for the market," explains Andreas Zühlcke, Vice President Product Management and Marketing.
The metering technology manufacturer is characterised by a firmly established culture of innovation and a working environment that promotes innovation. The company invested around one million Euros in the modernisation of the so-called "Engineering Tower" at the Heidelberg site, where the research and development offices are located. The newly designed rooms promote creativity and collaboration. Investments in software, process optimisation and employee development support agile product development for innovative solutions. The aim is to respond more quickly to customer requirements and remain competitive.
The TOP 100 competition is based on a scientific selection process. On behalf of compamedia, the organiser of the comparison, innovation researcher Prof. Dr Nikolaus Franke from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and his team examined ProMinent on the basis of more than 100 criteria from five categories: Innovation-promoting top management, innovation climate, innovative processes and organisation, external orientation/open innovation and innovation success.
Of particular importance is whether a company's innovations are merely a product of chance or whether they are systematically planned and can therefore be repeated in the future. Essentially, the question is how important innovation is to the company and whether it is able to scrutinise the status quo, think creatively and in new ways and successfully establish itself on the market.
ProMinent prevailed in the scientific selection process and is one of the top innovators for the second time.
